Introduction The push for green cars comes from people looking for ways to lessen their impact on the environment and become less dependent on oil. The research into alternative and more efficient energy is ongoing, but there is technology available for those who are willing to help. At the individual level, personal automobiles are one of the easiest ways for people to help with the movement. As more people are becoming informed and taking action, companies are feeling pressure from the government and customers to make changes. The change process has been relatively slow and not all countries feel passionate about making changes. In Greece, the change has been slow to sell more green cars. Toyota has increased itââ¬â¢s sales by 16.18% (from 21,961 sales in 2005 to 25,514 sales in 2006); VW has a positive growth of 11.34% (from 19,091 sales in 2005 to 21,256 sales in 2006); furthermore, Ford has a positive increase in sales by 3.66% (from 19,639 sales in 2005 to 20,357 sales in 2006). On the other hand, Opel has a negative growth rate of 15.62% (from 21,515 sales in 2005 to 18,154 sales in 2006); Hyundai is the second company with negative growth.
